Here Is Your Temple: Debut EP

Swedish outfit Here is your Temple’s debut EP is interesting. Opening track - and first single – So High is a metronomic, bass heavy march, underpinning the synths and Emily McWilliams slightly disembodied voice.

Fall Out Boy: Save RockAnd Roll

It’s important not to take the title too seriously. Fall Out Boy know as well as anyone that rock’n’roll is an amorphous and constantly evolving definition just like “pop music”.

“SO much feeling went into this record, it was the rope ladder thrown down into the ditch for us to climb up and dust ourselves off. I hope others can climb up it too; we’re excited to share the good vibes.”

Yasmin: Light Up

The multi-talented Yasmin (DJ, model and singer) was pretty busy last year what with two successful singles, summer festival performances and maybe topping the lot a MOBO nomination for best newcomer. Light Up (The World) is her new single for 2012. There are five mixes of the single, so there should be something for everyone.

The radio edit and the longer (better?) original mix are, in the main, traditional slices of dub reggae. There is a touch of South American carnival with the whistles and the brass, but this very much grooves to a Caribbean rhythm. Yasmin’s clear and crystal voice is right up in the mix, nicely complemented by Ms Dynamite.

The song’s genuine feel good factor should ensure some decent airplay, while the various remixes will probably give the song extra life on the dancefloor and in the clubs.
