Here Is Your Temple: Debut EP

Swedish outfit Here is your Temple’s debut EP is interesting. Opening track - and first single – So High is a metronomic, bass heavy march, underpinning the synths and Emily McWilliams slightly disembodied voice.

Fall Out Boy: Save RockAnd Roll

It’s important not to take the title too seriously. Fall Out Boy know as well as anyone that rock’n’roll is an amorphous and constantly evolving definition just like “pop music”.

“SO much feeling went into this record, it was the rope ladder thrown down into the ditch for us to climb up and dust ourselves off. I hope others can climb up it too; we’re excited to share the good vibes.”

St. Vincent: “Cruel” from Strange Mercy

St. Vincent frontlady Annie Clark has been busy promoting her forthcoming third record, Strange Mercy, the successor to her 2009 breakthrough Actor. The eccentric songstress released first single “Surgeon” a few weeks back, and we have a brand new song from the record called “Cruel” and an accompanying video to boot.

The song continues to showcase Clark’s fondness for epic, oddly schemed baroque pop, the video a literal representation of the cruelty of family life. Check out the entertaining clip below; Strange Mercy comes out September 13th via 4AD.
